Thanksgiving Celebratory Event

This year, Margot decided against having a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Since becoming veg in middle school, I have not had an orthodox dinner for the holiday. Is it really that hard to not add bacon bits to everything? In leau of "family time," I thought an impromptu dinner wif friendzzzzz would be more to my taste.

a waffle good time

Went to Adrian and John's last night. We played Balderdash and old vinyls. Around 11:30 we collectively declared hunger and embarked on the somewhat long journey (starting at Shandon and ending well into Garners Ferry) to the WAFFLE HOUSE. I got the usual waffle, grits, and toast with eggs-over medium-while John got two waffles, grits, orange juice (their "finest orange juice," mind you) something else which escapes me, and raisin toast! Adrian chose the elitist Waffle House meal-the All Star Special, which as long as I remain a veg, I will never get, because it's pretty much a plate of mutton. and a waffle. Ever the non-conformist, Zach opted not to eat, I suppose he's watching his girlish figure. Ohmygod. I am just kidding. I feel bad for even thinking that was a clever joke, because Zach actually has a kidney stone and spent the night in the ER. I spent the rest of my night wishing I had gotten another waffle and picking out songs for tha radio show. Adrian takes

Jeffrey Lewis Whig Show

Jeffrey Lewis and the Jackals performed last night at the Whig, for FREE. This was definitely the best show I had been to in months. I was aware of Jeff performing in town but I honestly was not planning on going (I had heard of him, however I had not heard him before), which is why I am so effing ecstatic John and Adrian invited me to pizza at the Whig; as we ended up staying for the show.

Local anti-folksters, The Choir Quit opened for Jeff and Co. and like usual, they were pretty awesome. Second time in a week I caught them perform live. Ella Minnow is such a great song-it really really is. Another great thing about the show (not so great a segue way..) was the setting and striking of instruments. Very fast and effcient. Holistically, Jeffrey and his band provided fast chords, honest lyrics and genuinely humorous stage banter among his brother, Jack and, Dave, the drummer. In addition to the music was Jeffrey's "short film" series. We were treated to A Quick Biography of Barack Obama, History of Communism Part IV: Korea, and a film-noir about a private detective with an afinity towards his saxophone. Jeffrey is also a comic book arist (google Fuff comics), so it makes since he drew these "films."
