parisian street art

can you spot four tags?*

sort of Banksy-ish:

cat power

My last post kind of re sparked my interest in street art. Today I remembered some photos I took of street art while in Paris last summer. I know they're kinda old, but hey.

*no prize, sahwee.

sunday morning

table 'o bras

Marcie and I went to the US #1 Metro flea market! I left with some pretty sweet pieces of jewelry-and an amazing bicycle clock which I have not decided if I should keep or give to my cycling-enthusiast brother, Nick. I will probably just keep it and use it as both awesome-time-telling-device and jewelry stand. I bought two really neat flower pins that I am going to make into friendship necklaces (so gay...psssh). Either that or some bitchin' earrings. OH YEAH this song-
so good.

"...not afraid to get sand on my tuxedo"

who could possibly turn down any of these "refined valley dudes*?"

*rapists

yay birth!!

it certainly was a foxy affair.

Everyone had a birthday this week! Adrian, Charlotte and Olivia all celebrated the wonders of expulsion from a uterus. I got Adrian and Olivia matching Unicorn prints and made cards for everyone.

OH YEAH and this is, by far, the strangest Craigslist missed connection I have recently read. I am....about 78% convinced this did not happen:

Pops Pizza-m4w

"few weeks back, you were with your sister and maybe your father, during lunch time, you were hot as hell, then these three smurfs came in and they were really drunk and boisterous. I was all, WTF smurfs? Your disturbing the peace!! then gargamel came in all gangsta and was all
there you are you little bastards and pulled out a machete. The smurfs were all..WTF gargamel? Were like 8 inchs tall bitch! Bring it!! And the whole place erupted as blue blood splashed against the wall. We all ran out and unfortunately I never had a chance to say anything. I did grab one of those funky white hats of theirs though."

moody judy

authentic Hispanic treat:

I colored my hair last night in a slightly spontaneous manner. Marcie was also pretty gung-ho for the adventure but remained optimistic post-results. I was left feeling a tad too-Morticia and wanted nothing to do with "light suede no. 3;" so much that I bopped over to the CVS at 8:15 this morning in search of a shade to balance out my current [ew]hue. Unlucky for the little Elvira over here, I have to wait. 48 hours. Hopefully the shade will lighten up a bit before next week.

Margot actually likes it-she would. Moms always like what you hate. We ate at CASY LINDY for lunch this afternoon and went goodwill hunting. I guess moms do not always hate what you like, because I am fairly certain she enjoyed herself this afternoon. We discussed the floral arrangement class she is enrolled in (she wants to open a florist called Maggie's Farm) and how she gets to keep all the arrangements she makes, which I think is pretty nifty.

...finally

Meredith gave me this really neat pin for my birthday. The pin can also be worn as a pendent-which is what I intended on doing for the past two months. I added a tiny gold locket for extra detail. I finally fixed it up and now have a new favorite piece of jewelry. huzzah!

craigslist creeps

One of my favorite things to do while shirking work is to scour the "Missed Connections" section of Craigslist. I am about 95% sure I have made a cameo on the 'ol Craigslist- regardless that the provided hyperlink does not quite prove anything as the outdated personal was from January. BUT I know it was me! I was the only girl in a Grey coat at Papa Jazz at 10:30 that Wednesday morning. I digress..

A few current choice Craigslist postings:

"We met a few years ago when you were staying at your daughters house next door. I haven't spoken to you since they moved out of town. Contact me the next time your in ohio."
ew. what are you, the creepy uncle?

"You noticed me noticing you this morning when we dropped off our kids at Pleasant Hill Elementary. Our children are in first grade but not in the same class. You were wearing a tight pair of black cotton pants that showed off your hot ass and thong. We both know we're married but I'm up for some fun if you are. And by that look you gave me, you are.E-mail me and tell me what kind of luxury car I drive."

"I won`t use your name so YOU won`t be embarrased. I just want to say that I do apologize from the bottom of my Heart. I know you probably don`t believe me, but I HAVE TRIED IT before and I was NOT just trying to IMPRESS YOU. If I hadn`t eaten so much, I don`t think I`d have BLOWN A GUT. I was trying to hold it back and that`s why when it came out it went everywhere, and I know it got all over you. I`m VERY SORRY, and if you weren`t so FINE I would just LET IT GO! When I finally came out of the bathroom (the reason I stayed so long was that I was EMBARASSED) and you were gone, I was HEARTBROKEN. I wish you would have at least let me TRY to explain. You never gave me your phone number and won`t answer your emails, so I hope you read this. If you would just give me ONE MORE CHANCE I SWEAR it`ll never happen again. I have to say that I learned my lesson, and if we did go to another all-u-can eat chinese restaurant again, I promise I absolutly will not try the sushi!"

I question the validity of the previous entry, but gross nevertheless.

...and my favorite:

"Saw you in Russell House You were wearing wife beater. You're hot dude...I'm a little older but what the fuck.. Would love to do whatever you'd like."

in a totally unrelated story: best friends and black-eyed-pea burgers really are the best.

Savannah

Kay, Olivia and I went to Savannah on Sunday. With the exception of a very minor afternoon shower, the entire day consisted of sunshine, up-scale thrifting, and graveyards. Unfortunately, however, the last was only semi-achieved as we spent well near and hour searching for the Bonaventure Cemetery. When we finally arrived around 6:30, the attraction had already been closed for nearly two hours. I still had fun, regardless.
