I just bought the new Dream Diary album, and you know-it's really good. They played at our house this past summer so when I saw the record at Papa Jazz, I had to buy it. Those folks are super nice and you should check them out. I also got around to finally listening to the new album from Braids this past week, and they're really nice (as musicians and people) too-so, you should give them a good listen as well. Hooray for nice bands with lots of talent.

We had a middle-school dance-themed Valentine's party last night. I didn't take pictures (huhwhoooops) but Rachael and Milton did.*

I am pretty positive they were everyone's favorite-how cute are their tween-formal ensembles!?

This morning, I did something really dumb. I washed a load of laundry and without thinking, I tossed in a bright orange dishtowel that had never been previously washed. Needless to say, my two favorite striped shirts resemble nothing short of a creamsicle. So...is that all? Anyone know how to reverse this damnage? If this is the case, anyone want those shirts?

I just found this super cute video that I guess could serve as an unofficial Valentine's Day music video. The video was made for Kate Spade and the lyrics name drop other musicians and brands (while showcasing the designs of Spade, obviously). So...I guess the video is almost as silly and confectionery as Valentine's Day itself.

...but I really really like Valentine's Day. A whole lot. Even when chocolates are not bought for me, there is still something moderately fun about making construction paper hearts and buying candy for ones self after it goes on sale (or at full price).

I bought a skillet the other day. A REAL LIFE SKILLET. I CAN'T EVEN COOK. But I bought one, nonetheless. And I love it. She's (well I had to pick a gender, and if you saw her you would say "damn she is a foxy skillet" anyway) robin's egg blue and matches perfectly with the kitchen table I painted this summer.

2011 is only hours away (if you count "hours" for more than a single day, which I am). I have not posted in almost a month, so I thought doing so before the next decade (if you count a new decade for years beginning with one, which I do) would be nice.

However, this post does lack any sort of real substance, my apologies.

I got a new camera a couple of months ago but have yet to post pictures because I haven't quite adapted to how it works or have a card reader...yadda yadda yadda (oh did I mention I have seen an ungodly amount of Seinfeld lately?*) here is my second post in two months, without original photos. I am working on New Years cards, maybe I will post pictures of those tomorrow?
